Che Tano: Reviews & Ratings
Legit Argentine traditional food! So happy to have this as an option nearby the woodlands (creekside). Highly recommend!!
On a hot Saturday late afternoon, I rode up here from Cypress on some beautiful back roads & ordered the Milanesa sandwich, Sprecher honey root beer, & a Pionono pastry for dessert. Fantastic flavors of the juicy fried steak in the sandwich along with lettuce, tomato, onion & a light smattering of a mayo-like spread on a butter toasted bread roll. Best of all is the fresh & flavor-full chimichurri on the side that pairs perfectly with the rich steak flavor. The fries that came with the sandwich were steak fry style but thinner, served hot, not greasy, & just the right amount of seasoning on them - very nice pairing when you put some on the sandwich as well. I had skipped breakfast & lunch so I would be hungry, but even so, I could not finish the whole sandwich, fries, & drink; everything was very filling & delicious. Still have the Pionono pastry to have as a late night snack when I finally stop feeling full! Very bright, casual, open atmosphere, lots of parking. Be aware that there is only one entrance into the strip mall area & that is turning right from Kuykendahl road heading South/East; if heading North/West you will need to U turn past Che Tano & come back the other direction, you cannot turn left into the parking lot. Clean building, fantastic food, generous portions, quick & friendly service. Get extra chimichurri if you can - such good flavor pairing with the meat & bread!
the food here is absolutely spectacular. i’ve never tried such amazing argentinian food, this is definitely one of the best restaurants in our area. the owner/chef is the kindest woman who is very passionate about the quality and taste of the food she serves. please visit this restaurant, it won’t disappoint!!
Great food and amazing service! The beef empanada and choripan were our favorite. Will definitely come back.
Very nice place. The empanadas were so good. I had the spinach and chorizo with a salad. Very delicious. The dessert empanadas. Omg so good!! I felt like the caramel was homemade.
I love the spinach empanada and sauce go with it. Love the restaurant.
Amazing new business that is so close to my house!! My husband was raised in Argentina and he was so impressed with everything we tried. We will be back, for sure!! Thank you for bringing a taste of “home” to our area!
Finally able to have lunch at Che Tano! We ordered 2 different pizzas and they were the best! Crust is to die for, and the sauce and toppings were really good. We also ordered to go some beef and chicken empanadas, will have to wait for dinner to try, but they smell heavenly. We also ordered an apple and Bavarian crème dessert empanadas and they were sooo good! They also came with a caramel like sauce that I could eat all alone, it was that good and creamy. Definitely coming back!! Update: Had the empanadas and they were so flavorful!! (I usually do not get empanadas because in the past, at other restaurants, they have been made with thick dough and a minuscule amount of filling.) That being said, Che Tano’s empanadas were filled with beef and chicken, and the dough was thin and crispy. I was really surprised at just how good they were, I can’t wait to go back and try some more items on their menu! There is only one entrance and exit, via Kuykendahl, but don’t pass up this food gem!! It is worth it!

The standout dish here is undoubtedly the Milanesa sandwich. Imagine a juicy, perfectly fried steak layered with crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and onion, all brought together by a delicate mayo-like spread on butter-toasted bread. The real hero, though, is the chimichurri—vibrant, herbaceous, and fresh—adding a punch of flavor that amplifies every bite. Accompanied by expertly seasoned steak fries that are crispy yet light, this dish balances richness and freshness flawlessly.
Equally impressive are their empanadas, with favorites like beef and choripán offering a rich and hearty bite bursting with traditional spices. The dessert empanadas, particularly those filled with what tastes like homemade caramel, provide a sweet end to a satisfying meal. The Pionono pastry is another gem—light and sweet, perfect for a late-night snack after indulging in hearty dishes.
